Patients with type 2 diabetes are increasing worldwide, especially in Asian counties. Diabetes mellitus is a multifactorial disease that develops and progresses due to the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. In addition to these factors, dietary factors have an effect on type 2 diabetes. In fact, the westernization of Asian diet is known to be responsible for the increase in type 2 diabetes in Asian countries.
